Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu joined the list of celebrities in entertainment who indicated their interests in politics last year, declaring his intention to contest as Rivers State governor.

Julius Agwu however pulled out from the
contest before the primaries. He revealed the
real reason for his withdrawal during the
APC Valentine dinner, held recently.
Julius Agwu who was the host at the APC
dinner said that immediately his mother got
wind of his political ambition, she called him
and begged him to quit.
“My mum called me to confirm and I
said it was true. She cried on the phone
and told me to drop my ambition and
leave it for the politicians before they
kidnap her and demand for ransom. I
had to oblige my mother’s request,”
